FineToday Holdings Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, CEO: Tetsuo Komori) has been certified under the SBT initiative for the greenhouse gas emissions reduction target that we set forth in "Fine Today & Tomorrow 2030," our mid-to-long-term vision, which is in line with the standards required to limit the rise in global temperature to no more than 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is operated internationally through the joint efforts of the CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project; a coalition of institutional investors promoting disclosure of climate change measures), United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), World Resources Institute (WRI), and World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF). To achieve the targets agreed to under the Paris Agreement, SBTi urges companies to set science-based greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, which the initiative then examines and certifies.

Since its establishment, the FineToday Group has continuously strengthened its efforts toward sustainability management, and we formulated "Fine Today & Tomorrow 2030," a mid-to-long-term vision based on the four Ps (Principles of Governance, People, Planet, and Prosperity), to serve as our roadmap to 2023.
Under the category of "Planet," working through our value chain, we aim to reduce our own greenhouse gas emissions*1 by 42% and indirect emissions*2, which encompasses value chain emissions, by 25% by 2030 in comparison to 2021 emission volumes.
These reduction targets are approved as a science-based target to limit the rise in global average temperature to no more than 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels, and were certified as being in line with the "1.5°C target."

To achieve the "Fine Today & Tomorrow 2030" vision, the FineToday Group is in the process of installing combined heat & power systems and other energy-saving equipment, switching to renewable energy, and working to make containers and packaging more sustainable, among other efforts. The Group will continue to fulfill its purpose, namely, to enrich the lives of everyone today and for generations to come, one fine day at a time. It will do this by working to promote measures for the environment, society, and governance (ESG) as part of its business activities, while striving to continuously improve corporate value.

*1 Direct emissions from in-house fuel use and industrial processes (Scope 1) and indirect emissions from the use of electricity and heat purchased by the company (Scope 2)
*2 Other indirect emissions from business activities, including within the value chain (Scope 3)
